The Story Behind MOOTstudio
Our path to becoming Europe's leading upcycling company.

Our Vision
To create a serious alternative to the linear structures of today's textile and consumer-goods industry, a fundamental rethink along the entire value chain is needed. With MOOT, we are committed to making the shortcomings of global production systems visible while developing concrete solutions that use resources more efficiently and enable circular processes.
At the core of our approach is scalable upcycling at industrial level. Instead of producing new raw materials, we tap into the enormous potential of already-existing materials and textiles that often remain unused or are prematurely disposed of. Through structured collection, sorting, and processing, these materials are transformed back into high-quality products and applications.
Together with social institutions, industrial partners, and responsible production facilities, we develop systems that combine ecological responsibility with economic scalability. This creates new value chains in which supposed waste materials become valuable resources — transparent, fairly produced, and with measurable impact for businesses.
Our goal is to evolve upcycling from a niche solution into an industrially scalable infrastructure. A truly sustainable economy only emerges when resource conservation, social responsibility, and circular material flows become the new standard.

Our Founders
Nils, a fashion designer, and Michael, a business graduate — best friends from Berlin with a shared vision: clothing is not disposable, but an elaborately produced consumer good. From that conviction, they founded MOOT in 2020 to transform rescued textiles into new, premium products. What started as an idea is now a team of 15+ people delivering industrial upcycling for Germany's largest enterprises.
Our Values
Sustainability
No new raw materials. We transform already-produced, unused materials into new products — reducing waste, saving resources, and minimising ecological footprint.
Fair Production
Product development in Berlin, fair regional production in Germany and Poland. Transparent value chain from material to finished product.
Industrial Scale
20,000+ units of monthly capacity. Europe's largest upcycling database. Proven processes for bulk orders from enterprises to mid-market companies.
