Reusing old banners: turning banners into bags

The campaign is over and the banners are piling up in the warehouse. Whether PVC, Mesh or roll-up, we have already made products from all three materials.

Hard-wearing materials such as PVC and Mesh suit everyday products that have to take a load: belt bags, tote bags, rucksacks. Thinner material can instead be processed in high volumes into small products, into keyrings, pencil cases and organisers. Unlike recycled material, the origin stays visible here. Every piece is a one-off, because every cut shows a different section of the design.

We turned stadium banners from the DFB, which hung in the stadium at matches of the national team, into bags and organisers that were on sale in the fan shop at the next home game. What else can be made from banner fabric is collected in our 20 product ideas from old advertising banners.

When an event lasts only one day

For Berlin Pride (Christopher Street Day), new floats are built every year to take part in the parade in the name of large companies. Weeks of planning and elaborately designed floats for a single day.

Together with Zalando and DHL we made bags from the tarpaulins of these floats. They are used today as give-aways and gifts for staff, and they carry the message of the event further without any new material having to be produced for it.

Soiled material from outdoor use

Banners that have been soiled by wind and weather can still be processed. Cleaning and preparation are handled by us for a small additional cost, and the end product is clean.
